Ollie's Service Centre vs Blue Light
A good game from both sides was seen this week. Blue Light got out of the blocks early and had the run for most of the first half. Jaxon Galvin scored two first half goals for Blue Light.
He was ably assisted by Archie Ribbons, Hayley Green-Crook and Jess Marchant all of whom came close to scoring in the first half. They were only stopped by the solid defence of Kyan Leu, Mia Barnes and Ethan Blanchard.
Towards the end of the first half Oliie's Service Centre's striker Charlie Coombs scored twice in close succession levelling up the scores at half time. The second half was a closer affair with only the twin strikes from Jess Marchant proving the difference.
The moment of the match came when Ethan Blanchard went down injured. Jess Marchant and Hayley Green-Crook both went to assist Ethan and made sure he was OK before continuing with the game. It was a great display of sportsmanship. The final result was 4 to 2 to Blue Light.

Tie-breaking tension against Tuncurry
Tuncurry Tigers Black met us on the field this weekend, at home just after the fog had cleared away, making it a great day for soccer. Some early strong tackles, suggested it was going to be a survival of the fittest. An early breakaway and run down the park soon after kick off, saw our first attempt at goal, from Zeke but unfortunately their keeper took possession. Soon after, Tuncurry's girls then had a few quick runs along the sideline, with one unstoppable ball finding the back of the net. Determination was then written across our boy's faces to bring the score back in our favour as they have never been behind on the scoreboard.
Goalie Sam, came under rapid fire attack from their sprinting strikers, bringing Sam to his knees, making some sterling saves within the first few minutes.
Kayden, Josh and Xander made many attempts only to have either the ball rebound off their opposition or the goal post. A tense moment had Aiden defending a ball from the sideline area in front of our goals, the ball finding his leg in midair, bounced high and luckily landing safe in Sam's hands.
Tuncurry's strikers kept our defenders Jack and Hayden occupied during the first half, making some great tackles, while Tristyn had his best game yet out on the field. The whistle blew to signal the end of the first half, giving the boys a much needed rest.
The boys grouped together on the field, talking tactics and aiming to bring the score line back in our favour, remaining positive the boys headed back onto the field after a quick drink break.
Early in the second half Kelly and teammate Lane made some dynamic passes to one another, only to find their hard work rebounding off the posts or into the keepers hands. Xander celebrated our first goal after going one on one with their goalie, bring the score to 1-1.
Midfielders, Harrison and Isaac worked tirelessly throughout the game, being under constant pressure from the persistent Tuncurry side. Slipping through a gap, Tuncurry found themselves on top again after scoring a goal not long before full time.
Relentless defense from Jack and Joseph kept the opposition on their toes. With a bit of push and shove in front of our goals from the opposition, Josh found himself on the ground and a penalty took place, taken by Zeke one minute before full time, tension was at a record high amongst the crowd. Zeke taking his time to line up, picked his spot and landed the ball in the corner of the net, just out of the keepers reach, bringing the score to a nail biting finish of 2-2, our first draw for the season.
Our next game will be played at Omaru Park, Taree at 10:00am against the Taree Wildcats.
