The burly Blues prop built up a head of steam as he ran over to congratulate teammates after Michael Jennings had scored the match-winner for NSW in the 79th minute.
Alas, poor execution had plagued the Blues all series and this was yet another example.
Woods achieved lift-off as he zoned in for a high-five but the pack underneath him shifted, leaving him with a full-body air swing as he plummeted back to Earth.
It didn't appear to dim his enthusiasm, with Woods rolling on the ground and party on his own.
Oddly enough, so was Jennings, who found himself to be a lone wolf after his heroics and eventually had to invite teammates to come and celebrate with him.
Social media had a field day with Woods' GIFs and videos after the game and the official NSW Rugby League account wasn't going to let a rare good night go without twisting the knife.
The Blues tweeted a picture of Maroons forward Josh McGuire and re-hashed his game two words, where he said 'Losers have meetings, winners have parties'.
It was a direct reply to his taunt but was deleted soon after it was posted.
