Police were called to Dyers Crossing shortly after midday Wednesday after reports that a man armed with a shotgun was threatening occupants at Dyers Produce, Landscape Supplies and Barnyard Cafe.
With the assistance of a police negotiator, the man was directed to surrender, which he did. He was subsequently arrested.
Police investigations will allege the man had previously attempted to fire the firearm at another man.
The man faced Forster Local Court on Thursday, September 22, where bail was refused.
The matter was adjourned until Tuesday, November 22 at Taree Local Court.
