Deputy chair of Advance Gloucester Rod Williams said the best solution to funding the upgrades is getting all the stakeholders involved.
“The key is getting everyone at the table to work on a solution,” Rod said.
There are two projects in the works: The Bucketts Way Route Access Strategy (Pacific Way to Gloucester) and The Giro Upgrade (Thunderbolts Way). Both plans look to increase access and productivity for freight movement, increase growth and economic benefit to the regions and address safety issues.
Advance Gloucester is working with MidCoast Council, Walcha Council, Livestock and Bulk Carriers Association and members of state and federal government.
Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce has recently endorsed the projects, by writing to the Minister of Infrastructure seeking consideration for funding.
