The book has been produced to raise funds for Can Assist Manning Valley, of which Dyana is a founding committee member.
Can Assist Manning Valley president, Paul Allan said: “Dyana is always the perfect host, for those who have been invited to her table there is always a long lasting memory of fine food, inspired décor and of course engaging company.
“I am so excited that Dyana has decided to pen her favourite recipes and share them with us through her Culinary Journey.
“The book will give people like myself the chance to be inspired by Dyana and indeed impress my guests with dishes which I know will become firm favourites and standards in my household.
“The fact that Dyana has decided to donate funds raised by this book is in itself truly inspirational, and gives testament to the character of this wonderful person.
“Dyana is using this opportunity to not only bring families and friends together though celebration of food and festivity, but she is also offering a great sense of community by committing this project as a fund-raiser”
Can Assist Manning Valley (CAMV) is a grass roots organisation, offering practical support and financial assistance to local cancer patients and their families.
CAMV is a completely voluntary organisation, and its key component is funds raised locally are distributed locally.
CAMV is one of 50 Can Assist branches State-wide, supported by a head office in Sydney covering administration costs such as auditing, insurance and marketing ensuring that funds raised locally stay local.
Can Assist Manning Valley is a hardworking and passionate group of locals who give of their time and commitment on a voluntary basis.
Each of the committee has a different reason for wanting to help, whether it be through having dealt first hand with friends and family battling cancer and the financial challenges this incurs, or whether it just to work on filling a void in community support within the Manning Valley and Great Lakes.
CAMV supports residents in the Manning Valley, through to Moorland in the north, Gloucester in the west and Bulahdelah in the south and also includes the Great Lakes.
CAMV receives no government funding, and is completely funded through the generosity of the community.
"We are constantly humbled by any offers of support from the community, some community members host their own events to raise funds for CAMV, others run raffles, collect donations, leave bequests, make one off contributions or attend one (and in some cases all) of our many fundraising events.”
CAMV assists local cancer patients and their families through financial support such as the payment of utility bills and council rates, the provision of food and fuel vouchers, assistance with pharmaceutical costs and medical expenses.
“We have a strict criteria for the distribution of our funds and each request is filtered through this criteria.”
CAMV is proud to date to have not had to say no to any request which has met our criteria, and to date we have distributed more than $180,000 to just on 200 local cancer patients and their families.
Tickets are on sale now at Club Taree, and are available by phoning Club Taree on 6539 4000. Tickets to the high tea are $30 per person. Dyana’s Culinary Journey will be available on the day for $25 per copy, with all funds raised from the book going to Can Assist Manning Valley,
