Member for Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen announced the Gloucester Returned and Services League (RSL) Sub-branch has received a $12,946 grant for the Gloucester Memorial Clock Tower.
RSL secretary Max Poole said the funds will be used to put in permanent seating.
A row of bench seats for 34 people, will be placed on a concrete strip near the garden beds in front of the clock.
“It’s so people don’t slip back in their chairs into the garden and hurt themselves,” Max said.
Mr Johnsen also announced the Scone RSL Sub-branch had received $3000 for the Scone War Memorial and Barwick House Transcare Building.
“Repairing and looking after our local war memorials is a vital part of honouring those Australian servicemen and women from Upper Hunter who sacrificed so much for our nation,” Mr Johnsen said.
He said this is a way for the government to give back to the veterans this region is so proud of.
“It’s about recognising and supporting vital contributions that have been made to our Upper Hunter Electorate, and I thank all our local veterans.”
