Barrington Public School (BPS) ended their 2016 school year with an outstanding line up performances by all of the students.

Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends filled the Gloucester Soldiers Club Auditorium last night (December 6) to watch the students showcase the acts they have been working on all term.
Each class has their very own performance: Kindergarten/Year 1 boot scooted to “A cowboys Christmas”, Year 2/3 were glowing during “Glowstick Dance”, Year 4 danced their way through “Friends” and Year 5/6 pretended they were the teachers in “The Principals New Clothes.”
During the principal’s report, Alison Wise, presented teacher Debbie Faull with a NSW award recognising her for going above and beyond for sport in the school. Ms Wise also said farewell to teacher Kim Macdonald, who will not be returning the BPS in 2017.
Ms Wise thanked all those who have supported the school during the year, including the outstanding financial contributions from Poley’s Place, which as helped the school buy new ipads.
She said a special goodbye to the year 6 students and thanked all of her staff for their hard work and creativity throughout the year.
“I hope you all take time to slow down and relax with all the people who matter most to you.,” she said.
In between the entertainment, students were presented with encouragement awards from the Parent and Citizens (P&C) Association, as well as, school awards.
The class awards were presented by Joan Harwood and Judy Earle from the Gloucester VIEW Club:
- Kindergarten/Year 1: Thomas Coombe
- Year 2/3: Bradley Rayner
- Year 4: Sienna Marzato
- Year 5/6 Jack Yarnold and Beau Blanch
Representatives from Gloucester Quota, Norma Fisher and Cheryl Farley presented the Sportsmanship Award to Georgia Schultz and the Mathematics Award to Issac McClure.
The NSW Premier’s Sporting Challenge Medal was presented by Penny Charles from the Gloucester Country Womens Association (CWA) to Ethan Cawthorn.
Ruby Cliffe was awarded the New South Wales Sporting Challenge Medal, Hayley Connell was presented with the Science Award, donated by Annie Laurie and Sarah Redman received the Pam Dew Memorial Award for English.
Gloucester High School principal, Pat Cavanagh award the Dux of Barrington Public School for 2016 to two students, Ryan Marzato and Hayley Connell.
Near the end of the presentation, the evenings Master of Ceremonies (MC), current school captains Will Bandy and Ruby Cliffe, named the incoming captains, Zane Commons and Torren Denyer for 2017.
The audience was entertained once more by the Year 6 Farewell Video, which was made by Gloucester High School students.

The evening ended with a few Christmas carols and a visit from Santa.
