Everyone was singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to Kenneth Laurie (K.B.) for his 60th and a surprise birthday cake was presented to him. Other milestones celebrated were for K.B. and Ron Fittler for their 40 year service at the Saleyards and Ken’s mother, Thelma Laurie for 30 years of voluntary service at the canteen.
Thelma is very popular with the cattle producers and other volunteers at the canteen and is famous in the district for her extra special sponge cakes.
