It was an unprecedented carnival with the oldest recorde broken being from 1983. Emily Kearney broke five records including: 50 metre freestyle (Kate Shanley 1986), 50m butterfly (Katharine Wilson 2003), open 100m freestyle (Emily Kearney 2016), 50m backstroke (Katharine Wilson 2003) and open 200m IM (Tonya Wilkinson 1983). The 11 years’ male 50 metre butterfly was broken by Ryan Latimore (Geoffrey Breese 1996). Our champion house of the day was Bradman.
14 students qualified for zone at Taree: Sam Collie, Jackson Moore, Mitchell Whitby, Zac Schafer, Ryan Latimore, Charles Tonks, Harrison Edwards, Caiden Wakefield, Olivia Kearney, Ruby Bradbury, Mackenzie Schafer, Josephine Fitzgerald, Kate Bradbury and Emily Kearney. From zone, two students qualified to represent Gloucester Public School at the Regional Carnival. Well done Olivia Kearney (50m breaststroke) and Emily Kearney (50m freestyle, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke and 200m IM).
