The theme for this year’s event is Bluegrass, Beer and BBQ and will be headlined by attractions such as a smoked barbecue demonstration and a beard competition.
The beard competition will be judged over three categories: longest beard, most colourful beard and best moustache.
More than 100 market stalls are expected to line the streets with items such as ice creams, hats, clothes, CDs, DVDs and craft for sale.
The headwarmer challenge will make a return with participants set to create either a hat, cap or beanie in the spirit of the Chill Out Festival. The categories are: the Aussie travellers, snug as a bug and make it fun with odds and ends. Entries close July 14.
A thrilling billy cart derby is also expected to be a major attraction on the day.
Gloucester Resources Limited (GRL) will donate $1000 for the winner to give to a local charity of their choice.
Chill Out co-ordinator Melissa Williams said the theme for the event could become synonymous with Gloucester, like the Elvis Festival in Parkes and the ABBA Festival in Trundle.
Live music will be held at The Roundabout Hotel and The Fox Den at the conclusion of the festival. For details and forms visit the Gloucester Chamber Facebook page.
