What started as an initiative of the Gloucester Rotary Club, has been support by MidCoast Council, and construction is underway to create the new site.
It’s all part of making Gloucester an RV friendly town, as recognised by Campervan and Motorhome Club of Australia (CMCA) and among the list of requirements is a dump point for grey and black water.
Rotary kicked in $5,000 toward the project, with council funding the remainder. So far, council has picked the location, gotten MidCoast Water approval, purchased the Dump Ezy Unit and has begun to prepare the site, which is located in between the pool and the tennis courts in Gloucester Park.
Gloucester’s existing dump site, according to council’s recreation service coordinator, Kerrie Simmons, it’s old and difficult to access. Council hopes to have the new one running by September school holidays.
