Groovin’ in the Garden is already twice as big as last year’s event, with still a month to go.
Save the date of Saturday September 30 (the October weekend) and pop up to the gardens between 10am and 3pm.
“Bring your money,” advises garden co-ordinator Chelsea Hands, “because there are going to be lots of stalls and lots of different things to be able to buy.”
There are already 22 stalls booked the Including Manning Valley Community Garden stall with lots of goodies from their garden and greenhouse, Burn Baby Burn Candle Co, Little Pixie Crystals, Tabbie Stone, stalls with bric-a-brac, jewellery, pre-loved clothes and books just to name some, native plants lead lighting, Terra Oils, upcycled goods, homestead goods and beads and gemstones just to name a few.
There will be plenty to eat on offer, with woodfired pizzes made on the premises, as well as food from the garden being prepared by volunteers in the Manning Valley Neighbourhood Services kitchen. There will also be a sausage sizzle and an old-fashioned lemonade stand.
All-day live music will be provided by the Dingo Creek String Band, Peggy van Zalm, Greg Walsh and more.
Children’s activities will be available all day, with the highlight being something a little different.
“There’ll be a fun little activity, like the ‘decorate the scarecrow’ last year. This year they’ll get to decorate me!” Chelsea says
Chelsea will be wearing white overalls for the activity.
“I’m going to stand there and let them decorate me, and they’ll be my garden overalls for the year.”
Entry is by a gold coin donation. For more information call Manning Valley Neighbourhood Services on 6553 5121.
