International Games Week at MidCoast Libraries

MidCoast Libraries will join over a thousand libraries around the world during International Games Week as they transform local libraries with board games.

During the games week on Monday, October 30 to Saturday, November 4, the libraries will provide a broad range of board game favourites, like Scrabble and Yatzee, for everyone to enjoy.

Not only is it a great opportunity to bring out your competitive side, but locals can also take part in the inaugural MidCoast Libraries inter-branch puzzle off.

“The aim of International Games Week is to reconnect communities through libraries around the educational, recreational, and social value of all types of games”, says Danielle Donnelly”, MidCoast Libraries events officer.

Due to its proven popularity, this will be the third year that MidCoast Libraries are taking part in International Games Week. “It’s a fun week and it’s suitable for the whole family,” Danielle added.

International Games Week is an international initiative supported by the American Library Association, the Australian Library and Information Association, Nordic Game Day and L’Associazione Italiana Biblioteche.
