Gloucester’s Bob Tebbet has been employed by MidCoast Council as a temporary business development co-ordinator for Gloucester.

Gloucester Business Chamber, Destination Gloucester, Advance Gloucester and Gloucester Tourism have been working with the department and council to boost Gloucester’s economic development using the survey results to help identify key areas where businesses need support.

MidCoast Council's director community spaces and services, Paul De Szell said the role will focus on identifying new business opportunities for Gloucester and pinpointing how council can support and strengthen existing business in Gloucester.

Mr Tebbet has been involved with Destination Gloucester, actively promoting Gloucester outside the community in an effort to attract businesses, individuals and families to relocate here.

He was nominated for Gloucester project of the year in 2016 for being the initiator and driving force behind the 2015 and 2016 Gloucester Tree Change Weekends and his work at representing Gloucester at the NSW Regional Expo.

"Gloucester has a proven record of attracting vibrant and progressive business,” Mr Tebbet said.

"Attracting business to a particular location is not always easy and often very competitive.

“I believe the challenge for us together is to welcome and encourage positive and progressive business development,” he said.

Mr Tebbet’s already visiting businesses to gain information and insights and is be available two days a week to help foster business development over the next six months. He can be contacted through council’s Gloucester office on 6538 5200.
