And to assist with getting prepared Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council (GACCI) is holding a photography workshop.
GACCI’s Pix from the Stix photography competition will run through the Gloucester Gallery in June 2018, so now’s your chance to improve your camera skills.
2017’s Pix from the Stix overall winner Ronnie Grammatica with run a workshop in the School of Arts meeting room, upstairs at the Gloucester Gallery at 25 Denison Street on January 21.
Ronnie was also a finalist in the 2017 National Still Life award ‘Still’, on show until January 20 in the Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery.
He grew up in Milan, Italy a location that sparked his passion for photography. Taking a traditional approach to his photography, Ronnie believes not only technique, but timing and the ability to tell a story through images are critical to ensure fantastic action shots. The workshop is on Sunday, January 21 from 9am to 4pm. Equipment required is a DSLR or compact digital camera and a laptop is recommended. Cost is $75.

GACCI is also running a children’s art workshop through the Gloucester Gallery for creative children aged 4-12 years presented by Christine Ball of “Great Night Art”.
Christine has been regularly running her fun art workshops across the Taree area for the past few years and is bringing her workshop to Gloucester for the first time.
There are two sessions to suit different age groups on Tuesday, January 23 in the School of Arts meeting room, upstairs at the Gloucester Gallery at 25 Denison Street.
Session one is for children aged 4-7 years and runs from 10:30am until noon. Session two is for children aged 8-12 years and runs from 1pm until 3pm. The workshop costs $20 per person with all materials supplied.
