Gloucester’s Tayla Predebon turned in two impressive performances for the Hastings League side at the Northern NSW women’s rugby league trials played at Muswellbrook.
Tayla, 17, a front rower, was one of the younger players involved. Teams from Hastings League, Group Four, Central Coast, Newcastle and Western Region were involved.
The Hastings League side played two games, losing to Group Four before downing Western Region.
“She was as good as any front rower there,’’ Hastings League president Geoff Cooper said.
“I think she’ll go close to selection in the Northern NSW side.’’
The Northern team to play Southern NSW on April 14 will be named in a month.
The game will be a further selection trial for the Country women’s side to meet City at Mudgee in May.
