Hogs for the Homeless visit Gloucester 2018

Hogs for Homeless (H4H) in conjunction with the NRL junior training program headed up by Josh Perry not only bought a successful fundraiser to Gloucester, but were credited with bringing much needed rain.

Fifty one enthusiastic junior footballers including some talented young ladies ignored the wet conditions and enjoyed the drills set out for them: finishing with a game of touch. All participants received a football from Brad Fittler, the NSW State of Origin coach.

That evening a dinner at the Gloucester Country Club, an auction was conducted raising over $5500.

A very different auctioneer from H4H kept the crowd entertained with some dubious tactics never seen before at the local saleyards. Brad Fittler, Ian Schubert and Josh Perry answered some probing questions from Gloucester’s Rodney Summerville and the floor identifying problems with the NSW origin side and country junior league.

Chances in a raffle for a Harley-Davidson Iron 883 bike and State of Origin tickets were popular, along with shirts sales that further boosted the monies raised. Anyone needing a lawn mowing service, ring Rodney at Valley Motors, he badly needs to recoup his auction purchase.

Sorry ladies, Riley and Craig will not be offering any more services of any nature.

A big thanks to the caterers at country club and the loyal supporters of Gloucester rugby.
