As a long-time volunteer at the Visitor Information Centre in Gloucester I am surprised at the demise of the Gloss, our local what’s on, while the new MidCoast Tourism news is in the planning phase.
Turning up for my shift last week I found we had no information to hand when our visitors asked us what’s on this weekend.
Surely good strategy would be to bring in the new before stopping what has, until now, been an invaluable source of information.
As volunteers we like to present professionalism and an important factor in that is knowing what’s on and when. Tourism is an important source of income for Gloucester and the whole region. As a proud volunteer I remain.
