Set under a green and yellow big top tent, Circus Avalon performers will present 90 minute circus shows at the Gloucester Showground.
There will be five show running from Friday, April 13 to Sunday, April 15 with the big top tent seating between 200 – 250 person per show.
Michael Riley from Circus Avalon said the show consists of high energy aerial and ground acts, such as trapeze, silks, juggling, diabolo and much more.
“Our small big top show is geared to family audiences with something for everyone,” he said.
This will be Circus Avalon’s first visit to Gloucester, as it normally operates within the Newcastle and Sydney areas.
“Circus Avalon is currently performing shortened versions of its show at the Sydney Family Show at Moore Park. By the end of Easter, we will have completed 50+ shows,” Michael said.
Circus Avalon was founded 25 years ago by John Campbell and operates a Newcastle Circus School “Avalon Circus Academy” which trains up to 100 students per school term.
The troupe consist of around 30 artists with past members going on to complete training at the National Institute of Circus Arts” or “NICA.”
“Artist Simon Tarrant set the world record for 52 hula hoop spins using his beard last November 16 at the Australian Circus Festival,” Michael said.
