Do you love playing music but are a little bit nervous to perform on stage?
Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council (GACCI) is running a free Youth Performance Workshop for students who are looking for advice on playing music in front of an audience.
This workshop is for experienced young musicians, aged 12 to 18 years, looking for a helping hand with their stagecraft and performance style.
Students should already know how to play an instrument and/or sing and have a music piece ready.
Former professional songstress and actress Maureen Hjorth will be running the workshop where students will have the opportunity to perform their song to a group of like-minded musicians.
Maureen will provide advice to help them perform better and polish their piece.
The Youth Performance Workshop is a great chance for anyone interested in taking part in GACCI’s Big Night In youth talent night on Saturday, May 19 to practice before the event.
The workshops will be held in the upcoming school holidays on Wednesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 25 from noon until 4pm at the Gloucester Citizens Centre, 30 Hume Street.
If you’re interested you can sign up at Gloucester Health Foods. Limited spots are available.
