Mr Johnsen said construction of a new bridge would improve road freight productivity, improve safety for motorists and pedestrians and ensure the traffic needs of the community in the Barrington, Gloucester and surrounding areas are met.
“The review of environmental factors for the new bridge assessed the potential environmental and social impacts of the proposed work, and identified opportunities to manage and mitigate these impacts. This environmental assessment was prepared in close consultation with key stakeholders and technical specialists,” Mr. Johnsen said.
Stakeholders and the community are reminded to comment on the review of environmental factors for the project by 5pm on Monday, April 23.
The review of environmental factors can be viewed online by visiting rms.work/barrington.
A hard copy of the document can be viewed at the Mid Coast Council Gloucester Office at 89 King Street in Gloucester, open from 9am to 4pm weekdays.
Copies are also available for viewing at Gloucester Library at 27 Denison Street in Gloucester, and the Barrington Post Office and General Store at 12 Argyle Street in Barrington.
“The community is encouraged to send feedback by to Roads and Maritime Services, Locked Bag 2030 Newcastle NSW 2300 or to gavin.jenkins@rms.nsw.gov.au.
