Big Night In (BNI) is designed to provide a safe environment for youth aged 12 to 18 years, to get up on stage and perform - anything from music vocals or instrumental, solo or in a group to dramatic performances or comedy acts.
Young artists come with a piece prepared and perform in front of an audience as well as a panel of judges. The judges come from a range of artistic backgrounds and provide each performer with feedback about their performance with tips on how to improve.
It’s not run like a typical talent competition with emphasis being placed on the winners, it’s more about providing a stage and opportunity for youth to be creative.
BNI returned revamped in 2017 after a few years in hibernation and it was a fantastic night with some amazing performers jumping on stage, joined by local musicians and guest artists.
“This year is shaping up to be a great night too with the generous support of local businesses we have prizes and giveaways for all,” event organiser Gina McClure said.
BNI is being held at Gloucester’s Citizen Centre, 30 Hume Street on Saturday, May 19 from 7pm.
Entry is a gold coin donation.
