Although the official opening of the festival is to be held at the Manning Regional Art Gallery on Friday, June 1, not only will Gloucester be hosting a performing arts event on the same night but local artists have been nominated for awards.
The opening event includes the presentation of the 2018 Visual and Performing Arts Awards, which has several Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc (GACCI) members names on the list of nominees.
Maureen Hjorth has been nominated for her work with the youth drama workshops, Judy Simonson for the Gloucester Gallery courtyard mural project, Christopher Steele for the Pix from the Stix photography competition and GACCI for the Big Night In youth talent night.
While the nominees enjoy an evening acknowledging their achievements, GACCI will be hosting the Upper Lansdowne Players for dinner theatre at the Gloucester Citizens Centre.
Programs for the 2018 Manning Winter Festival are now available at the Gloucester Gallery, Gloucester library, or visit the website: www.manningwinterfestival.weebly.com.
Tickets for the Gloucester dinner theatre evening are on sale at Gloucester Health Foods, but only until Friday, May 25 for catering purposes.
Packed with a variety of activities and events, the festival has something for everyone.
