Karuah got off to a flyer when their left winger intercepted the ball and ran in a length of the field try. Karuah continued the pressure with two sets and outpaced the defence for the winger to score again.
Gloucester troubled the score attendant for the first time when Mick Edmonds turned the ball back inside to Riley Collins close to the line, with Glenn O’Davis adding the extras.
For the rest of the half it became a Wratten and Munro exhibition. Scott Wratten’s determined running and solid defence was complimented when Novan Munro came off the bench and lifted the whole tempo of the Magpies attack.
Todd Ritter showed great footwork to score next for the Magpies after Wratten and Munro carted the ball 80 metres upfield.
Dave Morgan joined in the carve up when he scored twice off good back line movement and lead up runs by Ritter and Munro.
The Magpies went to half-time leading 20-8.
In the second half the Magpies continued in the same manner when Jacob Rinkin scored twice.
Karuah managed to claw their way to double figures when they scored in the right hand corner.
The Karuah defence was being shot to pieces as Munro scored from a scrum and Ritter capped off a fine game with an elusive run to score his second try.
Mick Hamson was not to be out done by his front row partner Riley Collins and barged over for a try for the Magpies win 46-12.
The hard working and skillful backrow of Lachlan Picton and Jacob Rinkin gave the Magpies a solid platform to launch their attack; while Craig Murray's defence is a constant inspiration for his bigger forwards. The depth on the bench will be tested as a few worrying injuries will affect team selection in the following weeks. Gloucester’s next game will be against Clarence Town at Clarence Town Park - Sunday June 3, 2pm start.
