Scorpions found themselves in unfamiliar territory in the first 15 minutes of play, with some great lead up work from the midfield passing the ball through to Sam who found himself in open ground and took the ball to the goal line and putting the ball in the right side of the goal.
Scorpions in front for the first time for the season. Scorpions defence line supported the midfield and Jack struck the ball wide and Sam C gathered it up and passed it through to Sam L for him to get his 2nd goal, Scorpions 2/0, Wingham struck back with a late goal and Scorpions went to the break up 2/1. Scorpions Manager and Coach called the team in and let the team know it was the best 30 minutes of play they have had yet and keep up the good work. The 2nd half began and both teams where back and forth each missing attempts and Wingham finally broke through with their 2nd goal to level the score. Scorpions had several other attempts but were shut down at the last second.
Wingham in the last ten minutes caught us of guard and picked up there 3rd, Wingham winning 3/2. This has been the best performance by the scorpions and I know a win is just around the corner. We have come a long way from our first game loss. Keep up the good work

H.S.V. (white) vs. Autolec (blue)
The first game of the morning saw two very competitive teams take the field. Sizing up their opponents White’s Georgia and Jessica went all guns blazing only to be met by a defensive Paige and Tristan for the Blues. Fast footwork by Ruben and Jake put the White team in defensive mode with Oliver doing a great job sweeping. A really close game all the way to the wire. Final score 5-4 to Autolec.
Gloucester Soldier’s Club (red) vs. Gloucester Farmer’s Markets (yellow)
Both teams were determined to defend strongly in this game with many balls being stolen or shut down. Lucas was strong for Red whilst Kaitlyn was a great last line defence for Yellow. The Laurie boys supported Nicholas in his runs down the field but were often thwarted by the defence of the Maggs boys. An exciting game to watch, final score 2-1 to Gloucester Soldier’s Club.
Gloucester Bluelight (green) vs. GB Pest Control (maroon)
The first half of this game both teams were on equal footing with Bradley and Joseph scoring for maroon and Brennan and Riley doing the damage for green. Bree made multiple saves for maroon with the supportive help of big brother from the sideline - thanks Josh. The second half saw green show it’s supremacy with good communication and passing skills leading to a flood of goals to Brennan and Jake. Final score not really reflecting the tussle of the game, 11-4 to BlueLight.

Schumann scores hat trick for Drifta 16's
An early corner kick from Aiden H. to Cody H. assisted Kayden S. to put Drifta 16's in the lead within the first five minutes of the match at our home game on Saturday 26th May against Tuncurry Gold. Zeke L. Kelly G. and Beau B. worked well up front providing Gold's keeper plenty of action. Jack B. and Hayden R. combined defensively along with Isaac E.B. in goals coming out and clearing all but one of Gold's attempts. Kayden S. had an outstanding first half bagging himself a hat trick, bringing the half time score to 3-1.
A goal to Tuncurry early in the second half brought some tension to the field, with our forwards trying at every opportunity to put one past the keeper, and with Tristyn also attempting a header from a corner kick. A goal to Aiden H. enabled us to have a more comfortable lead towards the final few minutes. Zeke L. was awarded a penalty after a tough tackle inside the box, which he converted easily, bringing the final score to 5-2.
Next week Drifta have a bye on Saturday June 2 and no game on the long weekend.
Their next game is at Tinonee against Moorland Devils on Saturday June 16 kicking off at midday.
Soldiers club seniors go down to the Jets
The Gloucester Soldiers Club Men's team had some early attempts at goals by Joel S. only to have the Cundletown Jet's keeper shut them down at home on Saturday May 26. The Jet's quick forwards kept our defensive line of Sam M., Andrew J., and Mathew T. busy, while Darren H's strong tackle in front of goals saw him exit the field for the remainder of the game. Tyler executed a perfect cross in front of goals after a solo run down the sideline, but was unable to connect with any teammates. The Jet's proved to be too strong on the day, with the Soldiers Club going down 6-0.
The Soldier's Clubs next game is Saturday June 2 against Taree Wildcats kicking off at 1:00pm at the Cundletown field.
Their catch up game is on Sunday June 3 against Great Lakes Vikings kicking off at 1:00pm at Boronia Park.
