The Gloucester and District Netball twilight competition held itsgrand final match on Wednesday June 20.
We had amazing support from the local community this season and were forced to run 6pm and 7:15pm games this season to accommodate eight teams entered into the competition.
The grand final game was held on a chilly evening at the netball courts, we were lucky to see the rainy weather clear away for the game, however some rain/sleet did creep in in the final stages of the match.
The Blue and Silver teams were vying for the top honours and the first half of the game was a very close contest with only 2 goals the difference as the break.
The defensive effort from both teams and numerous intercepts saw the score at only 11-9 heading into the second half of the game.
The Blue team played solid during the third quarter, especially in defence with the Silver team struggling to make any progress to their scoreline.
Blue finished the game with a 29-16 win over Silver.
The presentation of trophies followed the game with Encouragement trophies presented to Chantelle Franks and Leanne Anderson.
Our next competition starts in early August so keep an eye out on Facebook get your name down for competition two.
