Gloucester Barrington Pest Control division two
Gloucester BlueLight (Green) versus Hunter Special Vehicles (White): The first game of the morning was played on a still frosty paddock, both teams depleted to 5 players a piece. The overwhelming feeling of the game was the fun and friendly nature of all the children who were determined to have a great time. Jessica (white) hustled Joseph and Brennan (green) for a lot of the game, making them work for their goals. Thomas brought the ball down the field valiantly for white but was missing the support players to put the ball in the net. Travis threw himself at everything in goals, enjoying tackling the ball with no fear of feet kicking at him. Shannon made multiple runs, scoring some lovely goals individually for green. An entertaining game for all to watch. Final score 9-1 to Bluelight

Gloucester Soldiers Club (Red) vs Gloucester Barrington Pest Control (Maroon): Sadly there were only 4 maroon players to 5 red turn up for this game, so a forfeit had to be called. Despite this, all the children were desperate for a game, so with a fill-in they took the field for a friendly game. Xavier (maroon) placed himself as a sweeper/keeper and entertained everyone with his commentary on the field. Blake, Bree and Lily showed their fitness and didn’t stop running all game. The red team all want part of the action, with Albie stepping up this week, scoring 2 goals and running hard all game. Nicholas found his rhythm scoring multiple goals. Hamish was solid in the back line as usual, ably supported by Felicity and Emily. Fill-ins Asher and Brennan were fantastic subs for the maroon team.
Gloucester Farmers’ Markets (Yellow) vs Autolec Gloucester (Dark Blue): This was definitely the toughest game of the day, with each team fielding 6 players. The game was fast-paced with Ruben and Nick fighting it out in midfield for much of the first half. Harry and Quinlan worked well together for Yellow, sending the ball forward for Tom to pepper the goalie Hudson on numerous occasions. He found success with a beautiful kick to the corner of the net. Dark blue showed how much their team work has improved, with excellent passing skills and communication between Hudson, Jake, Ruben and Paige. Wonderful, hard-fought game. Final score 4-2 to Autolec.
