Accommodation Gloucester 13s
This week we travelled to Halliday’s point and with three games left for the season, Time is running out for us to come up with our first win. We were two players down and the opposition put on their secret weapon, Will Forrester, a former Gloucester player.
Halliday’s kicked off and we were under pressure from the start and our defence fought hard before that secret weapon drove one into the back of the net. Ten minutes later Will set up another one and we were down 2 – 0. With 10 minutes left in the first half Sam L went through there back line and put Gloucester on the Board, Halliday’s broke straight back and at half time we were 3 - 1 down.
With a good pep talk and a couple of position changes, We went back out and the aim was not to let them get any more goals. Our front line picked up and in no time we had them on the back foot, top lead up work through Harvey W. to Jackson S. on the wing back into the middle and struck by Sam C bouncing of the keeper and straight in front on Sam L to finish it off. 3 - 2 and 15 minutes left to play, Gloucester dominated the rest of the play with Rachael S. and Harvey W. in the mid field shutting down any attack they tried, Unfortunately we had several more attempts but couldn’t level the score. Great work by our backs in the second half to keep the other team scoreless.
Next week’s game is in Bulahdelah against Wingham.
