Home to over 90,000 diverse people, the MidCoast region can indeed benefit from the power of our community, demonstrated by positive outcomes in every corner of our 10,000km².
From the vast open spaces and natural assets that are maintained with the assistance of local volunteers, to local businesses who have embraced the Vibrant Spaces concept to make our town centres more exciting and enjoyable, the strength of our region is a reflection of the strength of our community.
The team at MidCoast Council believes the power of community can best be realised when everyone is involved and engaged with what’s happening across the region. They have used this Local Government Week to remind people to visit the council website to “Have your say” about projects that are open for feedback, and to stay updated by viewing council’s “Latest News”.
And they are encouraging locals to follow the council Facebook page – another great way to stay up to date and to join in a conversation. During Local Government Week, the social media platform will be used to promote just some of the facilities and services funded by rate-payers, and to provide helpful ideas about how we can work together to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
Local Government Week runs Monday July 30 to Sunday August 5. For more information, visit www.lgnsw.org.au.
