Veterans
This report is a case of two for the price of one, with results for the Tuesdays July 17 and 24. The two weeks were sponsored by Jean and Peter Buettel and then Maureen and David Hjorth respectively. The competitions were an individual stableford and then the monthly stroke round with a putting comp In conjunction. Both days were well supported with 19 and 25 starters.

The winner on the 17th was Derek Bardwell with 35 points, followed by Keith Whitby on 34, Bill Murray on 33, and then on 31 Sally Higgins, Bruce Fraser, Tony Burnet and Ric Paff. The ladies scooped the pool in the NTP's Sally Higgins on 6/15 and Elaine Murray on 4/13. Di Bardwell won the stayers award. Bruce Fraser won on the 24th, with a played to handicap score of 72 nett, beating Bill Murray on a count back. Other placegetters were Di Pritchard, also on 72, Tony Burnet on 73 then Keith Whitby and Elaine Murray on 74. Sally Higgins got NTP again on 4/13 and Chris Pritchard won on 6/15. David Hjorth won the putting comp with 26 putts and Phil Hawkins won the stayers award.
Valley Motors 4 Person Ambrose
On Saturday members played a 4 person ambrose for trophies kindly supplied by Rod Summerville of Valley Motors. It was really good to see all young and old players Summy brought along with him for the day. Once again the members greatly appreciate the support our business community gives our club. The winners on the day were P Blanch, P Benson, P Garland, yes all their first names are Paul, and A Wall with 58 1/4; and the R/Up were D Mann, D Blanch, W Maddalena and J McLeod with 58 5/8. The ball comp went down to 60 7/8. NTPs went to D Mann in A grade, with what was apparently a sublime shot. D Fisher won the B grade with E Murray winning C grade. The 2nd shot went to J McLeod and P Blanch won the long drive. Next week is the monthly mug/stroke event with the Mid Winter Open being on the following weekend. Ladies verses Veterans challenge
Wednesday was the annual ladies verses veterans challenge, this year the ladies were the victors by a very closely contested competition. Congratulations ladies, it’s nice that the ladies can beat the men at something. Pat Burrows starred for the ladies having 36 points, nice round Pat. Bill Murray was the men’s winner with 35 points. NTP 4th/13th Men’s Denver Webb; Ladies Pat Burrows. 6th@15th Men’s Derek Bardwell; Ladies Myrelle Fraser. The lucky raffle winner was Val Smith. A great day was had by all and we look forward to our next challenge. Next week's event is a Stableford.
