The Gloucester Probus Club held its last meeting on Thursday, August 2, at the Uniting Church Hall in Cowper Street.
The meeting began at 10am with 62 members present and 30 apologies. We welcomed a visitor Ros O’Brien who has since joined our club and will receive her badge next month.
The meeting proceeded with president Robert Sparke introducing guest speakers, Peter and Shirley Hazel who presented a slide show and narration of their recent trip to South Africa. What a magnificent trip it was with photos of lions, elephants and many other wild African animals. The presentation was enthusiastically received. Members are reminded that August 23, is the mystery trip and the bus leaves Denison Street, at 8am.
The September meeting is the Father’s Day meeting with a cuppa from 9.30am. The meeting starts at 10am and is followed by a barbecue luncheon at the Gloucester Bowling Club. Please make sure you have given your name to Joan for catering.
