Gloucester District Archers (GDA) hosted the 3D Branch Titles, at the Rookhurst Range on September 8 and 9.
Approximately 75 competitors nominated, and either stayed locally or camped out at the range to compete in this two day event.
Saturday started with a two arrow round in the morning and a one arrow round in the afternoon. A little rain didn’t dampen our spirits just our clothes and equipment. Both courses proved to be quite challenging, especially in trying to estimate the distances of each animal target in the bush setting. Some targets proved to be quite deceptive, making that bullseye shot, a little more elusive for some. As always in this competition, many competitors came back with a few less arrows then they started with and a great story to tell along with it. Andrew Jennings is to be commended on his efforts, in setting out a well-designed and challenging range for this competition.
Sunday morning the sun was shining and everyone kicked off at 9am to do another 2 arrow round before lunch to complete the Branch event.
At the end of day two, GDA came away with nine members taking home medals within their nominated divisions.
- Alexander Terras – 1st – Cub Boys C Freestlye Limited Compound
- Zali Jennings – 1st – Cub Girls Bowhunter Compound
- Kelsey Farley – 1st – Junior Girls B Grade Bowhunter Unlimited
