Labor has announced Phil Costa as their candidate for the seat of Lyne at the next election.
The announcement was made at the Country Labor conference at Forster last week.
Mr Costa said he is proud to represent the party at the election.
”My wife and I always loved the Mid North Coast and that's why we moved here a few years ago as locals we want to make it an even better place to live,” Mr Costa said.
Phil was successfully endorsed by local branches.
“We are so proud to have Phil Costa, a Nabiac resident, as our local candidate because he understands the challenges our local community faces,” Forster branch president Graham Robinson said.
”Phil has a wealth of knowledge and experience delivering for regional communities and he understand the complex challenges our area faces,” Taree branch president Claire Ponton said.
Labor candidate for the State seat of Myall Lakes Dr David Keegan provided his support.
“Phil has been a passionate advocate for improved services at a local level,” Dr Keegan said.
“I am proud to support Phil in the upcoming Federal election.”
Mr Costa was formerly the State Member for Wollondilly and served as NSW Water Minister.
Lyne is currently held by The Nationals’ Dr David Gillespie.
The date for the next Federal election is yet to be announced.
