Every year the Magpies hold a charity fund raiser for a local identity or organisation. This year $2,000 will be presented to men’s health as a result of gate receipts and canteen sales from a special home game event.
A joint promotion with Carlton Breweries was run during the season with a $2,000 prize towards a holiday of choice. This was drawn during the awards presentation and resulted in a popular win to Fiona O'Brien.
Committee update
The Gloucester Rugby League Club has finished in a strong financial position and will once again be recruiting a coach and players, but to field a team next year will need a new committee and volunteers.
The club is holding an urgent AGM on Wednesday October 24 at 6.30pm at the Avon Valley Inn, after being unable to form a committee at first AGM on October 17.
A president and treasurer are needed, with a possible secretary nominated.
A 15 strong committee is waiting for someone to tell them what to do.
If you are interested please come along. No committee no competition to play in.
