The 2019 school year is well underway and the role of the student leaders has taken hold.
Each primary school in the region has its own way of choosing its leaders and a different list of role requirements, however, the general idea is still the same; to represent the school and lead by example.
Stroud Public School has four leaders, set up in an parliamentary type system.
Aliya Lyall is prime minister and is in charge of the sustainability portfolio. Maddox Smith is deputy prime minister with the sport portfolio. Felicity Holstein is the minister in charge of the communication portfolio and Emily George is the minister in charge of the social services portfolio. The leadership team is responsible for the organisation of their portfolio, writing reports for parliament and leading all school initiatives and assemblies.
For Stroud Road Public School, the leaders are the year six students, each with their own vision of leadership.
Lachlan Warner would like to lead students in an effort to keep the school one of the most beautiful schools in the area. Hayley Fisher-Webster looks forward to representing the school at special events, and helping younger students develop a great attitude towards our school. Hayley Edwards thinks it's a great honour to lead our school in ceremonies and special events, as a chance to interact positively with the community.
