Helloworld single stableford

A single stableford was played on Saturday & a quality field of golfers took to Royal Gloucester on a very steamy summer-like Autumn day. The added bonus for everyone on the day was the precipitation that fell just after they finished golf. Long overdue & much needed. Trophies were kindly donated by helloworld Travel. A big thankyou to Ernie & Sharee for supporting the club. For those of you who are thinking about travelling don’t hesitate to call in to see the team at helloworld. Winners on the day: A Grade winner & best score of the day went to Steve Foot with a very handy score of 41 pts. The extra practice of late is obviously paying dividends. Well done Steve. Not sure what your handicap is these days but it must have been close to a par round. B Grade winner was the best left-hander ever to live in Moonlight Circuit - John Herd. It was a hotly contested event in B Grade & John came out on top with 39 pts. Good shooting John! C Grade winner: D. Schoenhoven (visitor from Taree) with a solid 38 pts. NTPs : A : Steve McDonald ; B : A. Nonnamus; C: Bob Kirkup (the best golfer in Barrington). A Grade Long Drive : Steve Foot Ball Comp winners included the abovementioned as well as Beau Hebblewhite 38; Denver Webb, Jamie Andrews 37; Bill Murray 35; Brian McInnes 34 and Sally Higgins won the last ball with 33 pts on a countback from several players including Steve McDonald, last week’s winner Tom Yates, Rick Paff & Paul Coote. Next week’s event is the prestigious Gloucester Ceramics 2-man ambrose. Make sure you come & win some of Steve & Stacey’s money because they’ve got plenty of it! Also, don’t forget to put your name down for the Tom Blundell Memorial Day (Sat 23 March). Always a top day & a great way to pay respects to the great man. Good golfing. Shanker’s apprentice.
