A pleasant Autumn day saw 21 starters for the Peter and Shirley Hazell Trophy day, a stroke event including the Treasurer's putting Comp. The rough was a bit rougher than usual (blame the replacement rough mower) and the greens had just been cored, so winner Mark Stone's 67 strokes was a fine achievement. Balls went to Tony Burnet, 70 strokes, Rick Paff,73, Kevin Williams (Karuah) ,also 73, Keith Whitby 77, and Bert Newman 78. The putting comp went to Tony Burnet with 27 putts; unusually, nobody managed NTP on the 4/13, but Rick Paff won the NTP 6/15. Col Roser won the Stayers Award. Next week will be the D&C Robinson TD, a 4BBB and individual comp. See you all then.

Ladies
Wednesday was another nice day for golf however it was a little difficult to tell the difference between the ball and the mushrooms on the course. Pat Burrows was the sponsor for the day, thank you Pat for your continued support. The winner of the day was Rhonda Nightingale with 34 points, Rhonda has been beaten on a countback many times lately, this is the first time she has been a winner since joining our club, congratulations Rhonda. Rhonda beat Moyà Harris on a countback. Ball comp winners Moyà Harris 34, Pam Paff 32 Annette Cravino 31, Cheryl Goodrich 31 and Margaret Dunn with 31 points. Gai Randall won NTP on both the 4th/13th and the 6th/15th. It was good to have so many play golf this week and to have some of our regulars back after the summer break. Last week some of our ladies represented our club at Kew for a 2 Ball Stroke event and our ladies represented us well, Ev Blanch and Gai Randall were the winners of the day with a gross score of 86. Dale Rabbett won a ball for something I'm not sure what and Dale and Pat Burrows won a ball in the ball comp with a 66 nett. On Thursday we have a good few ladies going to Bulahdelah Open Day best of luck ladies and we hope the Bulahdelah club have a good Open Day as their club was severely damaged during the storm before Christmas. Next week's event is Monthly Medal 2 sponsored by Effie Crawley and Betty Freeman.
