Headed up by Gloucester native siblings Andrew and Daniel and their uncle Ken, the 'Maurer Mafia' has been making tracks in rally events across the State in 2019.
Add in Jess, Tash, Jenny and Cedric as support and service crew and you've got a tight knit family that makes the race day experience even more special.
It was near impossible for the family to avoid the racing bug. Not that they're complaining.
"Dad used to race in the Gemini Series back in the 1990s so that's how we have gotten involved," Daniel explained.
As far as any form of sibling rivalry is concerned, you can leave that down to a friendly debate as to who has the better car.
"Andrew competes in an Evo (Mitsubishi) so there is a bit of banter regarding Subaru and Mitsubishi," Daniel said.
"We both started off in a little Ford Laser before stepping up to the Gemini, then I bought my own Gemini rally car off uncle Ken and Andrew built his own."
2019 marks 20 years since Daniel got his first taste of competition.
He became involved at the age of 13 by competing in motorkhanas and smaller events.
Once he was old enough to compete, Daniel transitioned into autocross and rallies.
After a break from the sport for a few years, Daniel got the bug back after getting behind the wheel of Andrew's Evo III.
"I purchased a WRX road car, stripped it and built it to what it is today," Daniel said.
Daniel built it at home in 2016, ran club events in 2017 before entering the Rallysprint Series in 2018.
Andrew currently runs an Evo VI.
Daniel enjoyed a golden start to the Rallysprint season at Nabiac, nabbing a spot on the podium with Ken as his navigator.
"Pairing up with Ken is a laugh," Daniel said of the relaxed but focused approach of the duo.
The consistency of the duo in the last few years is put down to the car's two litre boxer engine, VF34 turbo and 36 millimetre restrictor, tuned by Michael South.
Unfortunately, a mishap at the Orange round of the AMSAG Southern Cross Rally Series last month could spell the end of their run.
The duo was on track for a top result at the event until they suffered a power steering line blow out, which caused a fire within the car.
They're unlikely to tackle anymore events in 2019.
"The car is being repaired but will take some time," he said.
Looking to 2020, Daniel is set to feature more predominantly in the Southern Cross Series rather than the Rallysprint.
