A good turnout of 21 players from Gloucester was rather eclipsed by 32 men and ladies from Wingham, who won their home leg quite convincingly two weeks ago and won again today, so the trophy will be held by them until next year. Thanks to David Hjorth and team for a very tasty BBQ, and to Ros McIntyre for coming up with an amusing Glowing Trophy - I can't possibly describe it except to say that it made everybody laugh! Bert Newman won the Caldwell Trophy with 37 pts and Dale Rabbett was the best lady with an excellent 35pts. Peter Tate was pick of the bunch for Wingham with 37pts, followed by Neville Bell on 36 and Trevor Burns on 35. John Strybus won NTP on the 4th, Mark Stone won NTP on the 6th, and Denise Polly with 30 pts was the best Wingham lady and won the NTP on the 4th. All the winners were given a ball or wine or some beers. Our visitors commented (again) on how well the course played and we thank Rossy and assistant Don for breaking with their schedule and having the fairways looking so good on a Tuesday.
Next week is the K&M Clarke Trophy Day, a stroke event with the Treasurer's putting comp.
