An eerie fog surrounded Goucester at the Anzac Day dawn service held by the Returned and Services League (RSL) Gloucester Sub-branch on Thursday, April 25.
"At this hour, on this day, ANZAC received a baptism of fire and became one of the immortal names in history," sub-branch president, Alan Vale said as he opened the service with the dedication.
Attendees raised their voices in song as they remembered all those "who went out on the battlefields of the Great War, but did not return."
After the dawn service, members of the sub-branch and the community reunited for the march from the Gloucester Soldiers Club across Church Street and up Hume Street to the clock tower for 11am service. Gloucester residents lined the streets to again pay respect to all the men and women who have served and continue to serve Australia.
