Ladies - Stableford
Wednesday was a Stableford event and it was nice to have five of our Veteran men join us for the game as they have been working hard for their week of golf, so it was good that they joined in our competition. Up Town and Country sponsored the day, thank you Janice and Evette for your support, we are all very grateful for your sponsorship. The winner of the day was Peter Buettel with a great score of 41 points, congratulations on a great round Peter, you can join us again sometime. Winner of the ladies was Cheryl Goodrich with 38 points on a countback from Dale Rabbett, great score girls. Ball Competition, Dale Rabbett 38, Anne Maggs 35, Myrelle Fraser 34 and Val Smith on 33 points. NTP 4th@13th, Myrelle Fraser NTP 6th@15, Ladies, Myrelle Fraser and Men, Peter Buettel. Last week we had ladies represent our club at Wauchope Open Day and Rhonda Nightingale came home a winner, winning the long drive and nearest the pin in Division 3. Next weeks event is the WGNSW Medal Round 3, sponsored by Max Value Chemist.

Veterans - week of golf wrap up
Gloucester Veterans Week of Golf has been run and won. Seventy golfers from the Far South Coast, Sydney, Hunter Valley, Newcastle and the Mid North Coast, representing 26 Golf Clubs enjoyed the excellent weather. The course, although showing some effects of the drought was well prepared by Course Superintendent Anthony Ross and his band of volunteers. The Gloucester event was first conducted in 2004 and fourteen of the original participants were in this years field. At the well attended presentation dinner the support of the many sponsors and the NSWVGA was acknowledged.

Tournament Director Bill Murray encouraged the participants to have fun and enjoy this unique event, many of them indicating that they intend to return next year.
Boydies T/day stableford event
On Saturday a big field of members and visitors played a stableford event for trophies kindly donated by Boydies. Once again the continued support of the Gloucester business community is greatly appreciated by all members of our club. Winners on the day were, in A grade S Burns with 40 pts, B grade went to B Fraser, with the best score of the day, of 42 pts and C grade went to K Arney also with 40 pts. The ball comp went down to 32 pts on a countback. The NTPs went to C McLeod in A grade, L Ruttledge in B grade, M Stone in C grade and Crack also won the 2nd shot. B Newman won the long drive. This weekend is the monthly stroke/medal rnd which is, as usual, sponsored by Arkwood. The following weekend is the annual Barlow Bros Texas Shootout event, this is normally a very popular event so get your names in to participate on the day. The boys from Orange turn up on that weekend as well so make sure you are out there to say hello to these long time visitors to our club.
