Gloucester Golf Club's weekly report

Ladies - WGNSW Medal Round 4

Our fourth WGNSW Medal Round was played on a perfect day for golf. Our thanks to Elk and Willow who sponsored the day, your sponsorship is greatly appreciated.

The winner of the day was Annette Cravino who beat Val Smith on a countback with a 75 nett. This is the second time Annette and Val have had the same score this year, with Val winning on a countback last time so its only fair that Annette wins this time.

Winner of Division 2 was Cheryl Goodrich with 77 nett. Cheryl is still playing good golf and Alison Windeyer who is also on a winning streak was the winner of Division 3 with a 78 nett on a countback from Anne Maggs.

Ball winners were Val Smith 75 nett, Anne Maggs 78 nett, Moyà Harris 83 nett, Dale Rabbett 84 nett and Julie Paterson 84 nett. NTP 4th@13th, Anne Maggs. 6th@15th, Division 1, Val Smith, Division 2, Pam Paff.

Arkwood Monthly Medal (Stroke)

The monthly Arkwood sponsored Monthly Medal was played on Saturday and a smallish but quality field of golfers took to the dampened course.

Fantastic to see some moisture coming from the heavens - badly needed rain for our wide brown land at the moment. Paul Blanch, with a superb 1 over off the stick is our Medal winner for July. This equated to a 71 nett which was far and away the best score on the day. Top round Paul - good to see you back to your best!

Winners on the day: A Grade winner (Gross & Nett): Paul Blanch 73 & 71 respectively. B Grade winner (Gross & Nett): Brian Osborne 91 & 76 respectively. Hairy may be carrying a little extra handicap these days but his consistency is shining through. Welcome to the winners circle once again Mr. Osborne. C Grade winner (Nett): Kevin Arney with a 74 nett. Good to see one of the hardest working members of our club reap some golfing rewards. Well done Kev! C Grade winner (Gross) : A very gross winner indeed in the portly shape of Graham Marsh with a Bradmanesque 100 off the beater. NTPs : A : Jamie (Eme) Andrews ; B : Nau Juan; C: F. Defino B Grade Long Drive : Sir Douglas Barron Ball Comp winners: Paul Blanch 71, Kev Arney 74; Steve MacDonald 74; Chris Murray 76; Hairy 76.
