Thursday bowls saw the largest field for many weeks with 36 players involved in some torrid tussles with all matches being reduced to eighteen ends due to the pennant teams trial game.

K Burley, T Tersteeg, M Sheely def R Heininger, G Turnbull, G Moss 28-11. K Everett, L Urby, T Davies def j Andrews, A Henderson, G Spokes 27-14 in the pennant hit outs.
The remaining matches saw M Higgins, W Groves, A Laurie def G Wisemantel, B Peacock, P Jenkins 25-11. G Young, S Young, K Ecels def R Charman, C Pritchard, C Beattie 31-17. T Higgins, R Hayes, N Holstein def S Groves, P Sherridan, D Hjorth 25-15, P Sansom, J McIntosh, M Kirk def J Whittaker, R Crittenden, D Mehieloff 23-14. Saturday bowls resulted in a win to Clive Redman, Colleen Atkins with a large margin over Neville Atkins, Chris Pritchard and in the remaining games Nico Dunyhoven, Graham Turnbull, Judy Sheely proved to strong for Kevin Everett, Don Mehieloff, Di Lockwood and Jill Everett, Di Pritchard scored three on the last end to edge out Jean Holstein, George Wisemantel.
Sunday was the second round of the fours championships with the make-up team of Nico Duynhoven, Peter Bignell, Paul Mumford Robbie Bowden (who blitzed his opposing lead) to run out winners over Lu Urby, Andrew Henderson, Gary Spokes, George Wisemantel by 21-15.
Kevin Everett, Rob Heininger, Neville Atkins, Mike Sheely proved to consistent throughout the day to def Mark, Stacey, Phillip and Wayne Groves 24-20. The remaining game saw Jason Cassidy, Mathew Higgins, Craig Yates, Terry Davies have a comfortable win over Gary Moss, Jim Whittaker, Alec Laurie, Jim McIntosh 24-17.
Due to the State play offs next weekend the next round of the fours will be played on 4 August and the semi final and final may have to be played on 17 and 18 August due to a back log of events.
Gloucester number three pennant teams will be travelling to Tamworth this weekend to play for a State title and we wish them success which could put Gloucester on the map for bowls, so good luck boys.
The mixed pairs are closing soon and the first round is set down for 24 August followed by the Blind Solo Mixed Pairs on Sunday 25 August.
Ladies Minor Singles Championships
The ladies played the next round of the Minor Singles with the following results: Katharine Stucking defeated Colleen Atkins (25-22) and Jan Jones defeated Jeanette Mumford (25-21). Both games were very close with clear winners not appearing until near the end.
Consistency Championships
One early round in the Consistency Championships was also played with Jill Everett defeating Judy Sheely (154-106).
Today, 24 July, is our Gala Day. We have a full field of players from many clubs around the region, using both greens, so please come along and support the day - the weather looks as though it will be fine, so it should be a great day.
On 31 July, there will be one match in the Minor Singles between Jan Jones and Katharine Stucking and one match of Consistency between Jean Holstein and Ruth Redman.
