The 2019 committee for the Chill Out Festival has indicated the workload would be too much to handle again in 12 months time.
Without a new group of volunteers, say goodbye to the popular event.
Melissa Leitch is hopeful this won't be the case. She's behind a fresh bid to form a committee in time to start preparations for next year's event.
"It will be done; simple as that," Melissa said of the outcome if more volunteers don't come forward. "People may not understand the dire need for volunteers. If we can get a good group together, it won't be hard work.
"The committee can't do it if it's only a few people and no one wants to be worked into the ground, so we are asking for anyone who is able to get involved and join the committee.
"It would be a shame to lose it (the festival) for the community."
Committee roles are not just for business owners or those with a nous for organising a festival.
"We welcome anyone from the community," Melissa said.
Volunteer numbers need to be determined soon, with funding applications and other logistics to be decided in the coming months, if the festival is indeed going ahead.
A meeting was held on Monday, August 12 to get an early indication of the numbers. "We're hopeful of having another one."
Following the success of this year's festival, Melissa said some real estate agencies received inquires about people moving to the area. Visitors also came from as far as Queensland to attend.
"I heard some people were here to see friends and planned their holiday to coincide with Chill Out," she explained.
People from Newcastle, Central Coast, Sydney and the North Coast also attended the two-day event.
If the festival does live on, it's expected to once again take place on a Saturday and Sunday. It'll also be back bigger and better.
"We would be hopeful of having something again in the main street on the Sunday," Melissa said.
