Morisset had some big forwards but Gloucester were able to match them.
The Magpies backline was strengthened with the return of Lachlan Picton from suspension. This enabled coach Andrew Middlebrook to move Todd Ritter into lock.
The first ten minutes was all Morisset. The side raced to an 8-0 lead, with two tries coming off Gloucester mistakes. Neither try was converted.
Once they settled down, Gloucester began to complete their sets and were awarded with a try to Steve Cook. This was not converted, which gave Morisset an 8-4 lead at halftime.
Both sides were battling it out in driving rain and wind.
After the break, both sides settled into an arm-wrestle until a big hit in defence by Gloucester caused a serious injury to Morisset's five-eighth.
For the second week in a row, play was suspended for half an hour while the ambulance attended to the injured player.
Once play resumed, Gloucester realised they needed to rip in. A great try to Wratten was converted from the sideline by Luke Handsacker. This gave Gloucester a 10-8 lead.
After more solid play, Gloucester scored again through Lachlan Picton. His try was converted by Handsacker which gave Gloucester a 16-8 lead.
This would be the final score after some torrid defence from both sides.
A great game was played by the forwards, led by Steve Forrest. Hooker Craig Murray was reliable as always.
Luke Handsacker led the backs with strong runs and great kicks.
Scott Wratten at fullback was a stand out.
Tom Middlebrook had a solid game in defence and attack.
The Magpies will now take on Ourimbah in the preliminary final on Saturday at Lakeside Oval.
This will be the third time in a month the sides will face off.
The Tall Timbers were defeated by Aberglasslyn 19-18 for a place in the grand final.
The bus to the preliminary final will depart from the Avon Valley Inn.
