They'll take part in one of Australia's most respected four-wheel-drive events, The Tough Dog Tuff Truck Challenge, in the Hunter Valley between September 20 and 22.
The annual three day endurance competition pushes vehicles and competitors to the limit.
Drivers are tasked with ten stages that include large boulders, rocks, mud, giant tyres, craters and ruts. They must manoeuvre their vehicles through each track in coherence with a point scoring system.
Taree's Shane and Luke Carmichael will compete for the fourth time as part of Team D21 Navara.
"We have competed since 2016 and are back for another go," they told tufftrucks.com.au.
Their reliable Nissan Navara will handle the tricky conditions on the back of their modified patrol driveline, transfer reduction gears and hydro steering.
Glenthorne's Daniel McCarthy and John Waugh will steer SKIDMARK, a Nissan Patrol.
Their vehicle has modified rear steer, hydro steer, coil overs, locking differential and reduction gearing.
Heading into their fifth consecutive series, the duo is keen to try their hand at the challenge's new tracks.
"We have competed for the past four years now and always have a blast doing it and putting on a bit of a show for the spectators, really want to have a crack on some of the new and different tracks this year," they said.
Krambach's Warren Lewis and Rod Kirk team up as Black Dog.
They'll be packing a V8 engine under the hood of their Range Rover. This will be their ninth attempt at glory.
"We want to be part of the toughest four-wheel-drive event in Australia," they said.
The crews weren't able to trouble the top contenders in 2018, with a contingent of Newcastle teams dominating the event.
Former contenders B and S Racing, from Forster, and Just Crawlin', from Nabiac, aren't listed to compete this year.
Fifty-seven entrants have nominated for the event and will come from across NSW, Queensland and Victoria.
