Each year, GPS invites all the incoming students to hang out at the school of a few sessions running for an hour or so to help get them used to the new environment.
Some of the students are so keen about coming to their new school, they even showed up in uniform.
Monday, December 1 marked the last of the four sessions for 2019 with around 45 new children getting ready to become GPS students.
According to GPS kindergarten teacher, Susie McLeod the students spent time getting to know the school rules and structures.
"We're building on the skills they learn in preschool," Ms McLeod explained.
During their visits to the school, they got to know their 'buddy', who will be in year five when they start the 2020 school year.
"It's a chance to make a connection with their buddies, who will be their support person during the first few weeks of school," she said.
The students also spent a bit of time doing a few self-directed activities.
"We've got lots of lovely kids," Ms McLeod smiled.
