With the promise of the show going on "rain, hail or shine" and the predicted rain arriving, the concert was relocated to the multi-purpose shed, much to the delight of approximately 170 adults and children attending, who all managed to stay dry.
And what a fantastic night it was, especially for the children who were invited to join in throughout the show to assist with Tom's demonstrations with his working dogs and horses.
Throughout the evening, Tom's mate, Martin Oakes and Gloucester group The Grasscutters entertained the crowd before Tom took to the stage.
Thanks must go to all the helpers who worked hard to make the concert happen: KB Laurie, Ken White and Rob Laurie for manning the bar (they weren't run off their feet), Robert Ashby and his team of workers at the barbecue - Levonne, Marilyn, Kerrie, Keith and Marie - who were kept busy all night feeding the crowd; Bob Tebbet who provided tables and extra seating for the event as well as assisting with setting up and Fred Paterson for his assistance setting up beforehand. A big thank you to Sam de Witte and Denell Transport for coming to the rescue at the last minute by providing a covered truck for a stage.
Tom was really impressed with the undercover venue and Gloucester AH&P's hospitality and organisation for the event. The showground has already been added as a venue for his tour in 2021.
