Some hot tennis played on court

What was predicted to be a cold day after a freezing morning, turned into a sunny winter day with some hot tennis for the ladies at the Gloucester District Tennis club.

Last week's results:

Scott vs Pearson

It doesn't get closer than this - great tennis, long rallies, a few aces and sneaky net shots lead to a drawn match. Three sets 26 games to each team. Thanks to Heather who played for Lorraine Adams. Every player put in 100 per cent effort and every player enjoyed the day - except maybe Tessa who is still struggling with a leg injury.

Murray vs Harris

Another match where each team won three sets but Murrays took the points with 31 games won to 26 games to Team Harris. One tie-break set with Sally Martin and Ruth Johnson over Merrilyn and Lis. This combined with the 6/1 first set loss to Team Harris seems to have been the difference. Always great tennis with these ladies on court.

Results can also be viewed on Gloucester tennis club website. Di Mansfield took home the raffle prize - gotta love 57's coffee.
