The libraries team will host Janine Roberts and Penny Teerman, who founded the award-winning website that preserves and promotes the region's unique history, MidCoast Stories.
The series, an interactive extension of the team's online work, will feature a different topic with associated local stories each month.
"Janine and Penny's work has garnered such a strong following and they've turned plenty of people in the community into local history enthusiasts," MidCoast Libraries manager, Chris Jones said.
"These monthly events will complement the work they do and it's great that those joining us will have a chance to see how passionate they both are about telling our stories."
The first event of the series, Scandals and Scoundrels, will scratch the underbelly of the Mid Coast, speaking about stories that have been described as slightly disgraceful and definitely dark.
The hosts will delve into the world of swindles, murder plots and past injustices. The series will begin on Wednesday, September 9 from 6-7pm via Zoom. Bookings are essential and tickets can be found on the libraries website events page at https://library.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/Events.
MidCoast Stories is a collection of stories and local resources that preserve and promote the Mid Coast region's unique history. They are short, factual and often quirky, describing the people, places, and events that have influenced the region.
